Editorial Elopement in Seaside, FL 30A || David + Emma

When Emma talked about how she and David wanted their wedding to be just the two of them, simple, and a bit editorial, I knew it was gonna be a good one. Seems like Mother Nature was on our side too, cause the temperature was perfect and the gulf was calm. There were so many emotions and it was just the most breathtaking 2 hours.

They booked a 3 nights stay in the cutest beachside house in Seaside for their wedding weekend, so we started there. They took turns getting ready in the room downstairs and then David stood on the porch overlooking the ocean waiting to see his bride. It was a very emotional moment and you could see the love and admiration in their eyes. I love it when couples get to see each other for the first time with no distractions or people teasing in the background. It’s such an intimate moment and one of my favorite things to photograph.

After a few portraits in front of the house, we headed over to Grayton Beach for their ceremony. The water was eerily calm that day and the waves gently lapped at the shoreline. We found a nice sand bar for their ceremony and kindly asked a couple standing on it to please leave, lol. When you find the perfect place you do what you gotta do! It was a short and simple ceremony and perhaps my favorite photo from the day was capturing the single tear rolling down Emma’s cheek.

Something new and interesting they did was taking letters they wrote to each other and a bottle of Champagne and placing them in a box. The officiant told them that whenever they were feeling down or arguing (let’s face it, marriage isn’t all sunshine), they were to open the box and read the letters they had written. How sweet is that?! After the ceremony we just took our time strolling around the beach and taking photos until the sun set. Emma’s veil was gorgeous and a huge source of inspiration for me. I loved the way it caught the light.

So if you’re looking for a photographer to capture your editorial elopement on Seaside or Grayton’s beautiful beaches, contact me! I would love to shoot another stylish couple here! And if you’re not entirely sure that the elopement route is for you, let these photos convince you otherwise.
