30a FL/Ethereal, Mediterranean Wedding at the Carillon Beach Meeting House, Santa Rosa Beach

The shoot was equally the best and most challenging shoot I have every put together. I had planned an epic rooftop shoot in Seaside, FL and made it into a portfolio workshop for other photographers to attend and shoot. It was set for the day before Halloween and we were so excited. The week of the shoot comes and the weather forecast does not look good. Fast forward to the morning of the shoot and I’m sick to my stomach, because there’s no way we can do a rooftop styled shoot with the forecasted rain. I was so upset thinking I’d have to cancel the shoot knowing that a couple of attendees traveled out of state to shoot this!

Thank GOD I had a wedding planner on my team!!! Renee with A Wedding Collection came through and was able to secure us the Meeting House wedding venue in Carillon Beach using her connection with the venue manager. At first I was disappointed that we couldn’t do the rooftop, but honestly… the results way exceeded my expectations and I think that this is the way it was meant to be all along! The Carillon Meeting House is absolutely perfect for an intimate wedding and I love the ethereal, Mediterranean inspiration that it provided us with.

Moral of the story: Get a wedding planner and have a backup plan!

We didn’t want the shoot to fit into a particular season, but we love neutral, fall tones. So we used lots of browns, oranges, and yellows, then added in the blue to really mix it up and make it pop with color.

I seriously can’t get over this cake though! I wanted the shoot to be infused with florals everywhere and Bonne Vie Specialty blew me away with this cake.

My favorite part of the shoot was when Renee created this magical table setup in the ceremony site and it seriously looked like something out of a fairy tale. With the layered rugs, floor pillows, cloth draping down the table… I couldn’t imagine a more romantic atmosphere to eat and celebrate your wedding day.

Fun fact: I shot this couple’s elopement almost exactly a year before this shoot. We were off by a couple of days, so this was like a fun anniversary session.
