Summer Chequessett Yacht & Country Club Wedding || Michael + Aura

Last year Michael and Aura eloped just the two of them at Grayton Beach State Park. You can find some of my favorite photos from their elopement here. Their family wanted to celebrate with them though, so they planned a wedding celebration with them at the Chequessett Yacht & Country Club. Having grown up in Boston, MA, it was a no brainer for them to have a Cape Cod wedding with all of their friends and family.

They stayed at this cool airbnb with their family and friends and got ready together here. Aura wore converse shoes for her elopement, so it was only fitting that she wear another pair for her wedding celebration. Coolest bride ever! They also had their first look on the rooftop overlooking the coast.

I haven’t seen any other Cope Cod wedding venues, but I was blown away by this one! Michael and Aura had a Florida beach elopement and they wanted to have a Cape Cod beach wedding too. It was interesting to see just how different their beaches are from the white sand beaches in 30a. They had their reception set up in the Chequessett Yacht Club’s boathouse and most of their wedding decorations were diy. I loved the red, white, and blue theme that they went for. Very patriotic!

Thankfully, Michael and Aura wanted to do their portraits before the ceremony so that they could spend as much time as possible afterwards with their friends and family. It started sprinkling right before the ceremony and we wouldn’t have been able to get any photos afterwards.

Michael and Aura wanted to have their ceremony amongst the yachts, but with the rain coming plans had to change. It was still beautiful though with the colorful banners they made hanging from the rafters.

They had their dinner up in the clubhouse with chicken and lobster, of course. Can’t have a wedding in Cape Cod without lobster! Aura’s family sang to her in German, the toasts brought laughter and tears, and the long family style tables brought everybody closer together.

Ok, now look at those doughnuts! They weren’t your typical doughnuts either. They were more cakey and soooooo delicious! The doughnut board was another diy project and turned out really good.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much dancing at a reception before. These people definitely know how to party and the dj even told me it wasn’t as intense as most of the weddings up North! I had so much fun photographing these two again. If you need a Cape Cod wedding photographer, don’t hesitate to contact me! We can check out some of the famous lighthouses there too!
